Friend – from the New Testament

I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” -KJV, God gave me the following verses in the context of “Friend(s)”, from Matthew till Revelation in the New Testament.

Mat 11:19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say,
Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber,
a friend of publicans and sinners.
But wisdom is justified of her children.

Mat 20:13 But he answered one of them, and said,
Friend, I do thee no wrong:
didst not thou agree with me for a penny?

Mat 22:12 And he saith unto him, Friend,
how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment?
And he was speechless.

Mat 26:50 And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come?
Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.

Mar 3:21 And when his friends heard of it,
they went out to lay hold on him:
for they said, He is beside himself.

Mar 5:19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not,
but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends,
and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee,
and hath had compassion on thee.

Luk 7:6 Then Jesus went with them.
And when he was now not far from the house,
the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him,
Lord, trouble not thyself:
for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:

Luk 7:34 The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say,
Behold a gluttonous man,
and a winebibber,
a friend of publicans and sinners!

Luk 11:5 And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend,
and shall go unto him at midnight,
and say unto him, Friend,
lend me three loaves;
Luk 11:6 For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me,
and I have nothing to set before him?

Luk 11:8 I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him,
because he is his friend,
yet because of his importunity he will rise
and give him as many as he needeth.

Luk 12:4 And I say unto you my friends,
Be not afraid of them that kill the body,
and after that have no more that they can do.

Luk 14:10 But when thou art bidden,
go and sit down in the lowest room;
that when he that bade thee cometh,
he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher:
then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee.

Luk 14:12 Then said he also to him that bade him,
When thou makest a dinner or a supper,
call not thy friends,
nor thy brethren,
neither thy kinsmen,
nor thy rich neighbours;
lest they also bid thee again,
and a recompence be made thee.

Luk 15:6 And when he cometh home,
he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them,
Rejoice with me;
for I have found my sheep which was lost.

Luk 15:9 And when she hath found it,
she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying,
Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.

these many years do I serve thee,
neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment:
and yet thou never gavest me a kid,
that I might make merry with my friends:

Luk 16:9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness;
that, when ye fail,
they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

Luk 21:16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents,
and brethren,
and kinsfolks,
and friends;
and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.

Luk 23:12 And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together:
for before they were at enmity between themselves.

Joh 3:29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom:
but the friend of the bridegroom,
which standeth and heareth him,
rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice:
this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

Our friend Lazarus sleepeth;
but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.

if ye do whatsoever I command you.

for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth:
but I have called you friends;
for all things that I have heard of my Father
I have made known unto you.

but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go,
thou art not Caesar’s friend:
whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Caesar.

Act 10:24 And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea.
And Cornelius waited for them,
and had called together his kinsmen and near friends.

Act 12:20 And Herod was highly displeased with them of Tyre and Sidon:

having made Blastus the king’s chamberlain their friend,
desired peace; because their country was nourished by the king’s country.

which were his friends, sent unto him,

and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself.

Jam 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled
which saith, Abraham believed God,
and it was imputed unto him for righteousness:
and he was called the Friend of God.

Jam 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses,
know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God?
whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

3Jo 1:14 But I trust I shall shortly see thee,
and we shall speak face to face.
Peace be to thee. Our friends salute thee.
Greet the friends by name.
