I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV,  the following verses were given in the context of “axe”.

Deuteronomy 19:5 As when a man goeth into the wood with his neighbour to hew wood,
and his hand fetcheth a stroke with the axe to cut down the tree,
and the head slippeth from the helve,
and lighteth upon his neighbour, that he die;
he shall flee unto one of those cities, and live:

Deuteronomy 20:19 When thou shalt besiege a city a long time, in making war against it to take it,
thou shalt not destroy the trees thereof by forcing an axe against them:
for thou mayest eat of them, and thou shalt not cut them down
(for the tree of the field is man’s life) to employ them in the siege:

Judges 9:48 And Abimelech gat him up to mount Zalmon, he and all the people that were with him;
and Abimelech took an axe in his hand,
and cut down a bough from the trees,
and took it, and laid it on his shoulder,
and said unto the people that were with him,
What ye have seen me do, make haste, and do as I have done.

1 Samuel 13:20 But all the Israelites went down to the Philistines,
to sharpen every man his share,
and his coulter,

and for the coulters,
and for the forks,
and for the axes,
and to sharpen the goads.

2 Samuel 12:31 And he brought forth the people that were therein,
and put them under saws,
and under harrows of iron,
and under axes of iron,
and made them pass through the brick-kiln:
and thus did he unto all the cities of the children of Ammon.
So David and all the people returned unto Jerusalem.

1 Kings 6:7 And the house, when it was in building,
was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither:
so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house,
while it was in building.

2 Kings 6:5 But as one was felling a beam,
the axe head fell into the water:
and he cried, and said, Alas, master! for it was borrowed.

1 Chronicles 20:3 And he brought out the people that were in it,
and cut them with saws,
and with harrows of iron,
and with axes.
Even so dealt David with all the cities of the children of Ammon.
And David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.

as he had lifted up axes upon the thick trees.

at once with axes and hammers.

Isaiah 10:15 Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith?
or shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it?

and cast into the fire.
