I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV,  the following verses were given in the context of “bitter”.

Genesis 27:34 And when Esau heard the words of his father,
he cried with a great and exceeding bitter cry,
and said unto his father, Bless me, even me also, O my father.

Exodus 1:14 And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage,
in morter, and in brick,
and in all manner of service in the field:
