Famine…… I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread,
nor a thirst for water, but of
hearing the words of the LORD: – Amo 8:11

I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV,  the following verses were given in the context of “famine….”.

Gen 12:10 And there was a famine in the land:
and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there;
for the famine was grievous in the land.

Gen 26:1 And there was a famine in the land,
beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham.
And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.

Gen 41:27 And the seven thin and ill favoured kine
that came up after them are seven years;
and the seven empty ears blasted
with the east wind shall be seven years of famine.

Gen 41:30 And there shall arise after them seven years of famine;
and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt;
and the famine shall consume the land;

Gen 41:31 And the plenty shall not be known in the land
by reason of that famine following;
for it shall be very grievous.

Gen 41:36 And that food shall be for store to the land
against the seven years of famine,
which shall be in the land of Egypt;
that the land perish not through the famine.

before the years of famine came,

Rth 1:1 Now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled,

Jer 21:9 He that abideth in this city shall die by the sword,
and by the famine,
and by the pestilence:

and his life shall be unto him for a prey.

among them, till they be consumed
from off the land that I gave unto them and to their fathers.

Jer 27:8 And it shall come to pass, that the nation and kingdom
which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon,
and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon,
that nation will I punish, saith the LORD, with the sword,
and with the famine, and with the pestilence,
until I have consumed them by his hand.

Jer 27:13 Why will ye die, thou and thy people, by the sword, by the famine,
and by the pestilence, as the LORD hath spoken
against the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?

and will make them like vile figs,
that cannot be eaten, they are so evil.

as I have punished Jerusalem,
