I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV,  the following verses were given in the context of “Damascus”.

Gen 14:15 And he divided himself against them,
he and his servants, by night, and smote them,
and pursued them unto Hobah,
which is on the left hand of Damascus.

Gen 15:2 And Abram said, Lord GOD,
what wilt thou give me,
seeing I go childless,
and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?

2Sa 8:5 And when the Syrians of Damascus
came to succour Hadadezer king of Zobah,
David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.

2Sa 8:6 Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus:
and the Syrians became servants to David,
and brought gifts.
And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.

1Ki 11:24 And he gathered men unto him,
and became captain over a band,
when David slew them of Zobah:
and they went to Damascus,

Jer 49:23 Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad:

there is sorrow on the sea;
it cannot be quiet.

Jer 49:24 Damascus is waxed feeble,
and turneth herself to flee,

And the Lord said unto me, Arise,
and go into Damascus;

which are appointed for thee to do.

Act 22:11 And when I could not see for the glory of that light,
being led by the hand of them that were with me,
I came into Damascus.

Act 26:12 Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority
and commission from the chief priests,

Act 26:20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem,
and throughout all the coasts of Judaea,
and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God,
and do works meet for repentance.

2Co 11:32 In Damascus the governor under Aretas the king
kept the city of the Damascenes with a garrison,
desirous to apprehend me:

Gal 1:17 Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them
which were apostles before me;
but I went into Arabia,
and returned again unto Damascus.
