Let some take, I pray thee,
five of the horses that remain, which are left in the city,
(behold, they are as all the multitude of Israel that are left in it:
behold, I say, they are even as all the multitude
of the Israelites that are consumed:)
and let us send and see.

in the ears of the people that are on the wall.

1Ch 21:17 And David said unto God,
Is it not I that commanded the people to be numbered?
even I it is that have sinned and done evil indeed;

O LORD my God, be on me,
and on my father’s house;
but not on thy people,
that they should be plagued.

2Ch 18:12 And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spake to him, saying,
Behold, the words of the prophets
declare good to the king with one assent;
let thy word therefore,
I pray thee, be like one of theirs,
and speak thou good.

Neh 1:11 O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive
to the prayer of thy servant,
and to the prayer of thy servants,
who desire to fear thy name:
and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day,
and grant him mercy in the sight of this man.
For I was the king’s cupbearer.
