I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV,  the following verses were given in the context of “as if”.

Deu 15:21 And if there be any blemish therein,
as if it be lame, or blind,
or have any ill blemish,
thou shalt not sacrifice it unto the LORD thy God.

Jos 8:15 And Joshua and all Israel
made as if they were beaten before them,
and fled by the way of the wilderness.

Jos 9:4 They did work wilily,
and went and made as if they had been ambassadors,
and took old sacks upon their asses,
and wine bottles, old,
and rent,
and bound up;

2Sa 16:23 And the counsel of Ahithophel,
which he counselled in those days,
was as if a man had enquired at the oracle of God:
so was all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom.

2Sa 17:3 And I will bring back all the people unto thee:
the man whom thou seekest is as if all returned:
so all the people shall be in peace.

1Ki 16:31 And it came to pass,
as if it had been a light thing
for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat,
that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal
king of the Zidonians,
and went and served Baal,
and worshipped him.

Job 38:8 Or who shut up the sea with doors,
when it brake forth,
as if it had issued out of the womb?

Isa 10:15 Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith?
or shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it?
as if the rod should shake itself against them that lift it up,
or as if the staff should lift up itself,
as if it were no wood.

Isa 51:13 And forgettest the LORD thy maker,
that hath stretched forth the heavens,
and laid the foundations of the earth;
and hast feared continually every day
because of the fury of the oppressor,
as if he were ready to destroy?
and where is the fury of the oppressor?

Isa 59:10 We grope for the wall like the blind,
and we grope as if we had no eyes:
we stumble at noonday as in the night;
we are in desolate places as dead men.

Isa 66:3 He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man;
he that sacrificeth a lamb,
as if he cut off a dog’s neck;
he that offereth an oblation,
as if he offered swine’s blood;
he that burneth incense,
as if he blessed an idol.
Yea, they have chosen their own ways,
and their soul delighteth in their abominations.

Eze 10:10 And as for their appearances,
they four had one likeness,
as if a wheel had been in the midst of a wheel.

Amo 5:19 As if a man did flee from a lion,
and a bear met him; or went into the house,
and leaned his hand on the wall,
and a serpent bit him.

Mar 4:26 And he said, So is the kingdom of God,
as if a man should cast seed into the ground;

1Co 4:7 For who maketh thee to differ from another?
and what hast thou that thou didst not receive?
now if thou didst receive it,
why dost thou glory,
as if thou hadst not received it?

1Co 11:5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth
with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head:
for that is even all one as if she were shaven.

2Co 10:2 But I beseech you,
that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence,
wherewith I think to be bold against some,
which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.

2Co 10:9 That I may not seem
as if I would terrify you by letters.

2Co 13:2 I told you before,
and foretell you,
as if I were present, the second time;
and being absent now I write to them
which heretofore have sinned,
and to all other, that,
if I come again, I will not spare:

Rev 1:15 And his feet like unto fine brass,
as if they burned in a furnace;
and his voice as the sound of many waters.
