And I set my face unto the Lord God,
to seek by prayer and supplications,

I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV,  the following verses were given in the context of “supplication”.

1Sa 13:12 Therefore said I,
The Philistines will come down now upon me to Gilgal,
and I have not made supplication unto the LORD:
I forced myself therefore,
and offered a burnt offering.

1Ki 8:28 Yet have thou respect
unto the prayer of thy servant,
and to his supplication,
O LORD my God,
to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer,
which thy servant prayeth before thee to day:

1Ki 8:30 And hearken thou
to the supplication of thy servant,
and of thy people Israel,
when they shall pray toward this place:
and hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place:
and when thou hearest, forgive.

be smitten down before the enemy,
