I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV, the following verses were given in the context of “God smote”.

2Sa 6:6 And when they came to Nachon’s threshingfloor,
Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God,
and took hold of it;
for the oxen shook it.

2Sa 6:7 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; a
nd God smote him there for his error;
and there he died by the ark of God.

2Ch 13:14 And when Judah looked back,
behold, the battle was before and behind:
and they cried unto the LORD,
and the priests sounded with the trumpets.

2Ch 13:15 Then the men of Judah gave a shout:
and as the men of Judah shouted,
it came to pass,
that God smote Jeroboam
and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.
