I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV, the following verses were given in the context of “excess of”.

1Pe 4:3 For the time past of our life may suffice us
to have wrought the will of the Gentiles,
when we walked in lasciviousness,
lusts,
excess of wine,
revellings,
banquetings,
and abominable idolatries:

1Pe 4:4 Wherein they think it strange
that ye run not with them
to the same excess of riot,
speaking evil of you:

1Pe 4:5 Who shall give account to him
that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.

Mat-23:25 Woe unto you, scribes
and Pharisees, hypocrites!
for ye make clean the outside of the cup
and of the platter,
but within they are full of extortion and excess.
