I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV, the following verses were given in the context of “our Father” from the Old Testament.
Gen 19:31 And the firstborn said unto the younger,
Our father is old,
and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us
after the manner of all the earth:
Gen 19:32 Come, let us make our father drink wine,
and we will lie with him,
that we may preserve seed of our father.
Gen 19:34 And it came to pass on the morrow,
that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold,
I lay yesternight with my father:
let us make him drink wine this night also;
and go thou in, and lie with him,
that we may preserve seed of our father.
Gen 31:1 And he heard the words of Laban’s sons, saying,
Jacob hath taken away all that was our father‘s;
and of that which was our father‘s hath he gotten all this glory.
Gen 31:14 And Rachel and Leah answered and said unto him,
Is there yet any portion
or inheritance for us in our father‘s house?
Gen 31:16 For all the riches which God hath taken from our father,
that is ours, and our children’s: now then,
whatsoever God hath said unto thee, do.
Gen 42:13 And they said, Thy servants are twelve brethren,
the sons of one man in the land of Canaan;
and, behold, the youngest is this day with our father,
and one is not.
Gen 42:32 We be twelve brethren, sons of our father;
one is not, and the youngest is
this day with our father in the land of Canaan.
Gen 43:28 And they answered,
Thy servant our father is in good health, he is yet alive.
And they bowed down their heads,
and made obeisance.
Gen 44:25 And our father said, Go again,
and buy us a little food.
Gen 44:31 It shall come to pass, when he seeth that the lad is not with us,
that he will die:
and thy servants shall bring down
the gray hairs of thy servant our father
with sorrow to the grave.
Gen 46:34 That ye shall say, Thy servants’ trade hath been
about cattle from our youth even until now,
both we, and also our fathers:
that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen;
for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.
Gen 47:3 And Pharaoh said unto his brethren, What is your occupation?
And they said unto Pharaoh, Thy servants are shepherds,
both we, and also our fathers.
Num 20:15 How our fathers went down into Egypt,
and we have dwelt in Egypt a long time;
and the Egyptians vexed us, and our fathers:
Num 27:3 Our father died in the wilderness,
and he was not in the company of them
that gathered themselves together against the LORD
in the company of Korah;
but died in his own sin,
and had no sons.
Num 27:4 Why should the name of our father be done away
from among his family,
because he hath no son?
Give unto us therefore
a possession among the brethren of our father.
Num 36:3 And if they be married to any of the sons of the other tribes
of the children of Israel,
then shall their inheritance be taken
from the inheritance of our fathers,
and shall be put to the inheritance of the tribe
whereunto they are received:
so shall it be taken from the lot of our inheritance.
Num 36:4 And when the jubile of the children of Israel shall be,
then shall their inheritance be put unto the inheritance of the tribe
whereunto they are received:
so shall their inheritance be taken away
from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.
Deu 5:3 The LORD made not this covenant with our fathers,
but with us, even us,
who are all of us here alive this day.
Deu 6:23 And he brought us out from thence,
that he might bring us in, to give us
the land which he sware unto our fathers.
Deu 26:3 And thou shalt go unto the priest that shall be in those days,
and say unto him, I profess this day unto the LORD thy God,
that I am come unto the country
which the LORD sware unto our fathers for to give us.
Deu 26:7 And when we cried unto the LORD God of our fathers,
the LORD heard our voice,
and looked on our affliction,
and our labour,
and our oppression:
Deu 26:15 Look down from thy holy habitation, from heaven,
and bless thy people Israel,
and the land which thou hast given us,
as thou swarest unto our fathers,
a land that floweth with milk and honey.
Jos 22:28 Therefore said we, that it shall be,
when they should so say to us
or to our generations in time to come,
that we may say again,
Behold the pattern of the altar of the LORD,
which our fathers made,
not for burnt offerings,
nor for sacrifices;
but it is a witness between us and you.
Jos 24:17 For the LORD our God, he it is that brought us up
and our fathers out of the land of Egypt,
from the house of bondage,
and which did those great signs in our sight,
and preserved us in all the way wherein we went,
and among all the people through whom we passed:
Jdg 6:13 And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us,
why then is all this befallen us?
and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of,
saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt?
but now the LORD hath forsaken us,
and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.
Jdg 11:2 And Gilead’s wife bare him sons;
and his wife’s sons grew up,
and they thrust out Jephthah,
and said unto him, Thou shalt not inherit in our father‘s house;

that they live in the land
which thou gavest unto our fathers.

as thou spakest by the hand of Moses thy servant,
when thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord GOD.
1Ki 8:57 The LORD our God be with us,
as he was with our fathers:
let him not leave us, nor forsake us:
1Ki 8:58 That he may incline our hearts unto him,
to walk in all his ways,
and to keep his commandments,
and his statutes,
and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers.
2Ki 22:13 Go ye, enquire of the LORD for me,
and for the people, and for all Judah,
concerning the words of this book that is found:
for great is the wrath of the LORD that is kindled against us,
because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book,
to do according unto all that which is written concerning us.
1Ch 12:17 And David went out to meet them,
and answered and said unto them,

seeing there is no wrong in mine hands,
the God of our fathers look thereon,
and rebuke it.

our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination

so long as they live in the land
which thou gavest unto our fathers.

in a great trespass unto this day;

been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands,
to the sword,
to captivity,
and to a spoil,
and to confusion of face, as it is this day.
Neh 9:9 And didst see the affliction of our fathers in Egypt,
and heardest their cry by the Red sea;
Neh 9:16 But they and our fathers dealt proudly,
and hardened their necks,
and hearkened not to thy commandments,
Neh 9:32 Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty,
and the terrible God, who keepest covenant and mercy,
let not all the trouble seem little before thee,
that hath come upon us,
on our kings, on our princes,
and on our priests,
and on our prophets,
and on our fathers,
and on all thy people,
since the time of the kings of Assyria unto this day.
Neh 9:34 Neither have our kings,
our princes,
our priests,
nor our fathers, kept thy law,
nor hearkened unto thy commandments and thy testimonies,
wherewith thou didst testify against them.
Neh 9:36 Behold, we are servants this day,
and for the land that thou gavest unto our fathers
to eat the fruit thereof and the good thereof,
behold, we are servants in it:
Neh 10:34 And we cast the lots among the priests, the Levites,
and the people, for the wood offering,
to bring it into the house of our God,
after the houses of our fathers,

the labour of our fathers from our youth;
their flocks and their herds,
their sons and their daughters.

neither ye, nor your sons for ever:

the son of Rechab our father
in all that he hath charged us,

and have obeyed,
and done according to all
that Jonadab our father commanded us.

to burn incense unto the queen of heaven,

Dan 9:16 O Lord, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee,
let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem,
thy holy mountain:
because for our sins,
and for the iniquities of our fathers,
Jerusalem and thy people are become
a reproach to all that are about us.
Mic 7:20 Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob,
and the mercy to Abraham,
which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.

by profaning the covenant of our fathers?
