I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV,  the following verses were given in the context of “rebuke”.

Genesis 31:42 Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham,
and the fear of Isaac, had been with me,
surely thou hadst sent me away now empty.
God hath seen mine affliction and the labour of my hands,
and rebuked thee yesternight.

Genesis 37:10 And he told it to his father,
and to his brethren:
and his father rebuked him,
and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed?
Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren
indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth?

Leviticus 19:17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart:
thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour,
and not suffer sin upon him.

Deuteronomy 28:20 The LORD shall send upon thee cursing,
vexation, and rebuke,
in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do,
until thou be destroyed,
and until thou perish quickly;
because of the wickedness of thy doings,
whereby thou hast forsaken me.

Chasten the Son? (@#$!Daughter?) By Whom? Why?


My son,
attend unto my wisdom,
and bow thine ear to my understanding:

Chastening

A rebuke for making a mistake, restrain, censure severely, 
correct by punishment or discipline

Deu-8:5 Thou shalt also consider in thine heart,
that, as a man chasteneth his son,
so the LORD thy God chasteneth thee.

Deu-21:18 If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son,
which will not obey the voice of his father,
or the voice of his mother, and  that,
when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:

19. Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him,
