as in the provocation,
and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV, the following verses were given in the context of “wilderness”.

Job 1:19 And, behold,
there came a great wind
from the wilderness,
and smote the four corners of the house,
and it fell upon the young men,
and they are dead;
and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

Job 12:24 He taketh away the heart of the chief
of the people of the earth,
and causeth them to wander in a wilderness
where there is no way.

Job 24:5 Behold, as wild asses in the desert,
go they forth to their work;
rising betimes for a prey:
the wilderness yieldeth food for them
and for their children.

Job 30:3 For want and famine they were solitary;
fleeing into the wilderness
in former time desolate and waste.

Job 38:26 To cause it to rain on the earth,
where no man is; on the wilderness,
wherein there is no man;

Job 39:6 Whose house I have made the wilderness,
and the barren land his dwellings.

Psa 29:8 The voice of the LORD shaketh the wilderness;
the LORD shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.

Psa 55:7 Lo, then would I wander far off,
and remain in the wilderness. Selah.

Psa 63:1 O God, thou art my God;
early will I seek thee:
my soul thirsteth for thee,
my flesh longeth for thee in a dry
and thirsty land,
where no water is;

Psa 65:12 They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness:
and the little hills rejoice on every side.

Psa 68:7 O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people,
when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah:

Psa 72:9 They that dwell in the wilderness
shall bow before him;
and his enemies shall lick the dust.

Psa 74:14 Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces,
and gavest him to be meat to the people
inhabiting the wilderness.

Psa 78:15 He clave the rocks in the wilderness,
and gave them drink as out of the great depths.

Psa 78:17 And they sinned yet more against him
by provoking the most High in the wilderness.

Psa 78:19 Yea, they spake against God;
they said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?

Psa 78:40 How oft did they provoke him
in the wilderness,
and grieve him in the desert!

Psa 78:52 But made his own people
to go forth like sheep,
and guided them in the wilderness like a flock.

Psa 95:8 Harden not your heart,
as in the provocation,
and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

Psa 102:6 I am like a pelican of the wilderness:
I am like an owl of the desert.

Psa 106:9 He rebuked the Red sea also,
and it was dried up:
so he led them through the depths,
as through the wilderness.

Psa 106:14 But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness,
and tempted God in the desert.

Psa 106:26 Therefore he lifted up his hand against them,
to overthrow them in the wilderness:

Psa 107:4 They wandered in the wilderness
in a solitary way;
they found no city to dwell in.

Psa 107:33 He turneth rivers into a wilderness,
and the watersprings into dry ground;

Psa 107:35 He turneth the wilderness
into a standing water,
and dry ground into watersprings.

Psa 107:40 He poureth contempt upon princes,
and causeth them to wander in the wilderness,
where there is no way.

Psa 136:16 To him which led his people
through the wilderness:
for his mercy endureth for ever.

Pro 21:19 It is better to dwell in the wilderness,
than with a contentious and an angry woman.

Son 3:6 Who is this that cometh
out of the wilderness like pillars of smoke,
perfumed with myrrh and frankincense,
with all powders of the merchant?

Son 8:5 Who is this that cometh up
from the wilderness,
leaning upon her beloved?
I raised thee up under the apple tree:
there thy mother brought thee forth:
there she brought thee forth that bare thee.
